Boosted ICE idea

Had this idea to boost hp and get better gas mileage.
Thoughts?

I'm not sure how much energy it would take to make enough Hydrogen to run the engine, and if you'd get that energy back.  I don't know what to expect, but my guess is that something about the process wouldn't work.  However, don't let my pessimism stop you from trying.  :-)

In ww2 they water injected the airplane engines to get more hp, when you drive your car on a rainy day the engine has more power and runs smoother.
I used water injection on my car in the 60's to run at the dragstrip (also cooled the fuel with ice helped also).
