Emergency heat
« on: November 21, 2021, 02:15:48 pm »
I've started another project.
I've watched a series of videos on flower pot heaters made from terracotta clay flower pots  and came up with a conglomeration that incorporates features I liked.
The heaters inside the flower pots are small cans of crisco shortening with a candle wick stuck in it. They say they will burn for days and will heat a small room so you don't freeze to death.
Here's my idea >>>>https://www.dropbox.com/s/nvhts9h329y5qrv/emergency%20heater.jpg?dl=0

Neat!  As long as there is enough ventilation to avoid CO poisoning.

Not much. It's just a candle. I'm thinking it's more hype than an actual usable heat source.
I'm now leaning towards a kerosene or waste oil heater in the garage with an aluminum heat exchanger piped into the house.
