Solar AC
« on: September 05, 2023, 10:50:42 am »
Thought this might work.
Can you think if any improvements?
Might be reversible for heating too.

A swamp cooler with airflow powered by the sun ... looks like it should work.
You may have seen this guy's work.  He uses a desiccant.

Except this does not humidify the air like a swamp cooler does.

No desiccant needed on this one.

Or you could have an open system where the heat exchange water gets exposed to the air.  Some of it evaporates and dumps heat to the air, and the cool water that falls to the bottom gets pumped through the heat exchanger.

Taking that design idea into this one. Requires less tubing.
The pumps and fans are solar powered.

Lol, not really. It worked out, except the flash. It would help if I knew why it flashes and why it doesn't. Real finicky, I think it's real fussy on battery voltage and internal battery resistance.

I checked pvc pipe prices and it would cost close to $75 to make this design.
Maybe I could make one like Desertsun02 on yt made.

The only thing I can say about this is, when  I was in  hvac  school  I was taught that you  can't  cool a home  with  air warmer than  50 degrees.

I also think that that depends on the house insulation and how much 50 degree air you have.
If you replace all the 80 degree air in your house with 50 degree air, I believe you've cooled the house to 50 degrees.
