Might as well use what you have for testing, the problem I have is remembering where I put thing I want to use 🤣

I think I would have orientated the magnets differently but nonetheless it looks like it works pretty well👍 and a bit of rubber will prevent that latching issue.

Did you pause your print part way though and drop the magnet in before letting your printer go again? I’ve found that if I let the magnet or whatever I’m implanting warm up on the bed for a couple minutes before dropping it i get a better looking print opposed to when I drop in a cold implant.
I just printed two parts and glued them together.

The wings are finished.  They aren't perfect; the paint didn't cover as well as I had hoped.  I should have used primer.

Is it textured? It looks like its a coarse weave fabric. I'm concerned about my Coroplast ribs showing through on the surface and creating Eddy's and swirls in the flow also.

I’m not sure but a bit of texture might help the air stick to the surface??? I’ve read, heard, seen somewhere the dimples on a golf ball a pretty important in the context of aerodynamics. Though I dare say, any texture probably needs to be in a specific position on the airfoil.

six of one, half dozen of the other... hahahaha
 but dimples help air stick to the ball's surface longer, making the wake smaller and the ball more aerodynamic.

A prototype of the new pivot block is being printed.  I didn't change the stops; they aren't horrible.  They sound bad in the video because the camera's automatic gain control tends to amplify the impact.  I'm going to try and balance the wing using a 1/2-13 x 1" long set screw instead of the washers.  The wings ended up weighing 55 grams with paint.  I moved the pivot point 3.5 mm because the wings were a little heavy compared to their area.  Setting the wing away from the pivot will give the aerodynamic forces a little more leverage.  We shall see if the calculations are worth a darn.

I’m of the opinion these tiny changes (such as 3.5mm) do make a difference but whether or not we can see, measure or demonstrate that difference without being ‘clinical’ is different story.
