Or just use a falling weight to tilt the collector, speed is controlled by the gearbox and the amount of weight. Just reset by disengaging the gearbox , tilt it back, engage and go again the second day. Why didn't I think of that earlier???
Or maybe something like a pneumatic door closer with an adjustable leak as a timer?

I think its like a liquid hour glass. The water trickles out and makes the thing move due to the balance changing? Except he uses air pressure to move the water. Diagram does not match

Interesting, but I'm not sure what is going on there with all the tubes, airlift pump, strings and pulleys, water running from somewhere ... I wish the diagram was of what was in the video.
